Premier Lifestyle Villages Group has secured an extraordinary fourth consecutive ‘Best Large Retirement or Lifestyle Village North Island’ award in AgedAdvisor’s coveted ‘People’s Choice Awards’ for its Settlers Lifestyle Village property on Auckland’s North Shore.

Winning four years in a row underscores the Group’s unwavering commitment to resident connectedness – with each other and the world around them.

The ‘People’s Choice Awards’ are decided through the collation and review of the toughest ‘judges’ of any awards, the resident. The awards are completely independent – the only true “people’s choice” awards in New Zealand for Seniors. The process has involved over 15,200 reviews and ratings for over 945 retirement facilities. This year, close to 4000 in-depth reviews contributed to the awards.

Premier Lifestyle Villages CEO Terry Middlemost says, “We are incredibly proud to win for a fourth consecutive year. This recognises the commitment and effort our team puts in every day without fail to provide the best level of care available and a meaningful range of experiences.

The accolade means so much to us because the People’s Choice Awards reflect what residents think about their village. Our staff and management team strive to create that special connected feeling for everyone in a calm, beautiful environment. We are one team, one family, one community. It’s fantastic to hear that we continue to set the highest bar for lifestyle, comfort, security, hospitality, and care in a lifestyle village.

The unique level of care and quality of the beautiful amenities at the village is reflected in recent feedback and reviews of Settlers Lifestyle Village at AgedAdvisor, which range from “Best place I have seen” through to “Just keep everything as it is currently. It is hard to improve on the lifestyle Settlers offers to its residents.

Strong community bonds, autonomy, and healthy social dynamics are cultivated in multiple ways. These range from the Settlers welcoming committee, a support network, and events and daily activities through to everything from a monthly ladies’ happy hour to a purpose-built bloke’s shed.

Tania Ryan, General Manager for AgedAdvisor New Zealand says, “The AgedAdvisor Annual Awards are based on real reviews from the residents, families, and professionals nationwide who know these facilities inside and out. As the largest awards of our kind with a genuine connection to each facility, we love the chance each year to celebrate every star of our industry. It’s our 10th anniversary for the awards this year.

We are very excited to announce that the 2024 Award for Best Large Retirement or Lifestyle Village (North Island) once again goes to Settlers Lifestyle Village – a title they have now held onto for many years! I’m confident that our awards provide the most accurate and trustworthy information out there. Settlers Lifestyle Village directors Scott Vernon and David McFarlan commented that this award has little to do with the bricks and mortar of Settlers but everything to do with the culture of friendliness and camaraderie that exists within the community.

Scott says, “The award recognises that the residents are the village, and the owners, management and staff are justifiably proud that their contribution provides a platform for such positive and collective energy. Settlers is such a happy place.

The village’s commitment to inclusive activities and round-the-clock emergency response services assures a life of comfort, safety, and engagement. Resort-like facilities, including numerous shared spaces, and expansive grounds with lush gardens and mature trees create an atmosphere made for relaxation and social interactions.
